About Deja Que Se Rompa Todo

The album moves like a series of spells: to heal, to cry, to dance, to find a new path and a new light. It is Latin alternative pop built from electronic landscapes, Afro-indigenous rhythms, Latin soul and R&B, and it marks the first time Alea speaks openly about heartbreak and loss in her music.

"Deja que se rompa todo is very dear to my heart," says Alea. "It's me not being afraid to make mistakes. It's being proud of having lived so much in so little time. Each song was an exercise in shutting out the noise, feeling all the feelings, and translating them into music."

Sequenced like the stages of grief, the album moves from rupture to acceptance. The sad and hopeful songs, like "Sol de mediodía" and "Goodbye." The protest songs, like "Rompe to'" (ft. Mr. Pauer) and "Mango." The dance floor songs, like "Déjame" and "Pretextos" (ft. Cheo Pardo). It opens with "PEDAZOS / Confesión," poems from Alea's 2023 journal, and closes with "A dónde se irá," a song about where the love that remained will go.
